Gems - EFI

Post by Seight-V8 »

Hello All,

Has anyone ever got a GEMS efi engine to run in anything else than its intended vehicle.

still trying to make my mind up about how to run my, 4.6 lump.

I'm after keeping the fuel injection, and ignition coils, but cannot find enough information about the GEMS efi.

thanks for any help

GEMS hooks into all sorts of other parts of the car, it isnt completely standalone as the previous versions were. Some of the major points being the immobiliser system and gearbox transducers. Difficult to get round it all and costs £££ if even possible. Easiest route would be to change the ECU for VEMS, Emerald, MS which will work fine with your GEMS hardware.

hiya,

mark adams has sent me some good GEMS install info, without this i might have given up altogether.

But marks says the gems is an excellent system.....so for the moment i am going to stick with the install...

I know it aint gonna me easy...but what is...might take longer and cost a few more ££££.

But someone has to try these things.....

I believe GEMs is totally self mapping once installed but you will need the chips from Mark that disables the security system in order to get it working.

I do have 2 GEM's ecus if you need one.
