Hi Les. (sounds quite corney like its family fortunes, lol)
I do erratically, often with bits falling off.

ok, projects, more like a money pit, me thinks is
for the past 15 years or so, my landrover 90, and yes it goes off road
from time to time.
bet the uk gov loves all the vat/tax i"ve paid over the years!!
rougth history........i"ll try to keep it short.
about 10 years ago, a je 3.9, 9.35 cr,tin head gaskets went in,
full balance,101 cam,su carbs mild porting etc. on the rolling road, for the carb jetting, hate to think what it would cost now.
i recall around 210 hp / 320 torque @3700rpm ish.
approx 30 k miles later, uprated pre stretched roller timing chain /gears knackered. another 25-30k mls std chain/gears went same way
TIP . crank moved about 12 degrees before rotor arm moved, by hand turning on the crank.
approx 5 year ago, LPG conversion, two ignition systems rigged up.
now engine probs /noise....
bored now.
a p38 4l (45k) mls engine on way,for a mix and match..........
les...............

Les
My old 3500 has 10 degrees of stretch on the chain. No wonder the thing would idle very well.
