Help needed again

Post by currymonster »

Hello. Got the truck fired up today and ran it up to temperature. As soon as the fans kick in it cuts out because it keeps blowing the main engine ecu relay. I've fitted a heavy duty twin kenlowe fan kit and wired it in with the relays etc. Could there be a power surge when the fans kick in which is causing the relay to blow?

I will listen to any advise givern.

Thanks in advance-Martin :?

Depends on where you've taken the feed for the fans from - if you've taken it from the ECU feed, then it will blow the fuse. My measurements gave about 14Amps per fan, so you could be taking 28 amps!
