5 litre 485 bhp P6B

Post by Robrover »

Works replica, just like it looked in 1970, but with a 5 litre instead of the 4.3 Traco Olds

www.teamwillpower.org

And it's destined for the 'Ring, racing there just like the original did. I still remember the original one that came to Oz to continue racing after the works shut. It's now in a sorry state being slowly restored to it's works' livery by a P6 enthusiast in Sydney.

HTF are they expecting to get 485HP out a 5litre Rover though?

485bhp?!?! Sounds like a TVR power figure to me

There's no way they'll get anywhere near that unless they spend half a mortgage on the internals and Wildcat heads, especially if they go with the original style downdraughts

good luck to them

Wildcat have been publishing dyno graphs for nat asp 5.0L 'Rover' engines with that sort of output for the best part of 10 years, and of course, most of their output goes to Aus . . . .

Well their natasp on dellortos isn't even 440HP. So even their best is 10% down. The EFI on avgas is just too mind boggling

So the owner of a tuned 302 Ford (say) would not be more than happy with 440BHP ? Sound like excellent figures to me, even if they were coming from a Yank motor ?

I am sure they would , but the talk was of 10% more than that, which is a significant amount in anyones book.
