Evening folks,
been trial fitting the new fibreglass front end on the Spitfire today and discovered it's not just the air filter thats going to hit the bonnet but the distributor also.
The top of the cap touches and so does the vacumn.
Do I have options without major engine changes or cutting holes and adding some sort of bulge.
I can't move the engine any further back or lower.
Is there possibly a different distributor or some other option.
The engine is none injection.
And finally can I turn the rocker covers round so the breathers are at the rear of the engine where there is a bit more room?
Cheers
Dist hitting the hood

I believe the Triumph GT6 bonnet has more clearance wih it's power bulge
There is also a company advertising in Kit cat magazines that makes them (GT6) in fiberglass - possibly easier to modify

jrv8, thought I could fit rocker covers either side thanks for confiming.
Ian, I have a on piece front end for the car which is a rare Lenhem front end, its about to be even rarer as found a company who will make me a GT6 power bulge but slightly higher and longer. And they will have it ready for me coming back from my holidays.
