944 with ls1.

Anyways, after much though, about a minutes worth I've realised that as standard the 944 is everything I want my Capri to be in the bodywork and chassis department, more so in the latter so it makes sense to put the mental engine in the porker as it can no doubt handle it (after a few straight forward mods) alot better than my capri could.

I'm going to upgrade the brakes and suspension and at some point in its life replace the gearbox with a turbo item complete with lsd and better suited ratios.

I can get a complete kit to bolt in and ls1, thats bolt in, no cutting, weldding etc etc with minimal fabbing required which is good as the garage I rent from the council has no power.

So i can now have a car exactly as I want it!

Perfect handling, stonking brakes, comfort, a name (Porsche!!!) good looks, groovy 80's tacky brown interior (I love it!) and a mental engine!!!!

It may take a while as the chassis mods are going to dent the conversion funds but if I'm going to do this then I need to do it properly!!!

Get the 944 running and then I'm going to take you to another barn and after we've broken down the brick wall you're going to beg, repeat BEG, to sell the Porker and put your hands in your pockets BIG TIME ! BUWAHAHAHAAAA!

Think gorgeous aluminium hand-built 70's Euro-exotica with no engine. The LS will fit a treat but it's a bit common for the pedigree.

Or I may just do it myself after the Healey's finished 8)

This is like being your drug dealer but with cars, I reckon 2 years and you're going to desperate for another fix :shock: :shock: :shock:

They're nasty!

First order of the day is to uprate the suspension and brakes.

And I'll also be getting a complete spring, strut and damper kit from koni for it too. I;ve heard many a great thing about the koni yellow sport kits for it, nothing but uber praise in fact so thats a safe bet. Cheap too at £435 + vat.

Its a relief to fine uprated bits for a car without having to bodge, adapt, hammer, it into to fitting the capri or work big time to uprate something for only a minor improvement.

Once these are done and out of the way I'll try and get hold of some 944 turbo rear calipers and front and rear anti roll bars. Maybe some poly bushes too although I'm not too sure about that, I don't want it becoming too harsh a ride.

Once all thats out of the way its ls1 time!!!!!

That probably won't be for a while though, I want to enjoy it as it is, working with awesome handling and brakes and cool looks!

Top one's a Lele , bottom one's a Monte. All I know for certain is that it's not a Ferrari. What I know less certainly is it's a big foreign 4-seat hatch/fastback that cost a bloody fortune when it was first bought. And it's still bricked up in a barn in the South West due to a divorce 30 odd years ago. The engine's gone/blown and I haven't yet met the owner who's in his late '70's. Could even be a Maser :D

This one could run and run!

Has it got a V5 and MOT?
Owner of an "On the Road" GT40 Replica by DAX powered by 3.9Hotwre Efi, worked over by DJ Motors. EFi Working but still does some kangaroo at low revs (Damn the speed limits) In to paint shop 18/03/08.

wait until you have the car built, some wheels are a fashion accessory and change each month, I know a few people who have built a car around a set of expensive wheels, only to change them as soon as the car hits the road.

Ian and Kev, nail, head , hit. It was a momentary lack of taste and following of the crowd! I saw the big lip on them though and dribbled!!
