Hi all
Just about to embark on an Audi V8 swap into the back of a Toyota MR2 Roadster specifically for Hillclimbs and Sprints
I already race in an MR2 Roadster that I turbo'd a few years back but have a spare shell kicking about so thought why not!
I am on the look out for a blown motor so I can fabricate the frame / mounts etc
Looking forward to reading the forum
I do the odd YouTube vid if anyone wants a laugh at a 50 odd year olds ramblings! https://youtube.com/@stevewaiteracing?s ... uepb_koVrp
cheers
Steve

Re: MR2 Roadster V8 build
Always annoying that stuff like that will get forced into Sports Libre, which has lots of rules and ££ stuff needed.
Are you going for a transverse layout or longitudinal ?
I guess if Audi, must be a longitudinal and fwd type in line box ? Porsche PDK would be nice

Re: MR2 Roadster V8 build
LOL, just seen one of the video's, it'll be wellll into Sports Libre anyway. Hell of a project !!
Sort of a part spaceframe type project, exoskel etc etc
The V8's are very cheap I believe, and of course turbo would be great. Although if staying near standard engine, maybe one of the Audi V6 supercharged might be worth considering ?
I guess a lot depends on how much power you want ?
Stav and his guy seem to like the more simple approach of transverse engines, whether 4, 5 or VR6 types.
