Rover P6 V8 front timing cover

I have a P6 V8 front timing cover and was wondering if the neoprene sd1 seal fits directly in, also any other modifications that could be made.
Any suggestions guys

If you remove the channel that the rope seal fits into then you can fit a lipseal instead. You can also fit a high volume oil pump upgrade kit.
