LT77 gearlever question

Post by JC. »

So how does it attach to the remote then?

Do the pins go underneath or on top of the springs?
Where should the springs go? to the side of the bolts or on top?
How much do you screw the bolt in that holds the little dust shield down?

FInally... i started grinding away the bottom of the lever as it didnt quite fit my tunnel... some black stuff started oozing out.... have i goosed the lever now?

Someone tell me i havent goosed it up completely :(

Not sure what you've done to your lever. May well be rubber inside the lower section

I'm not sure whats inside the larger part above the ball that the rod is crimped/welded to, could be rubber to act as some sort of damper, as is on the land rover type gearlevers, if that is the part you've been cutting into. The dust shield is bolted down tight as it is partly the gearlever retainer.

I guess you could just bend the dust shield back down again, its only a thin bit of metal held with a little bolt at the back  , glad its the picture you wanted.
