Porsche 924
Hi all,
I've checked with the tone-ster as to if i can put this post up and he said no problems!
I want something more interesting to drive around in as my dailey car than the Citroen ZX i have and 924's keep catching my eye!
They're cheap, well built and go well enough.
Has anyone on here owned one or had any experiance of one at all?

Gav,
I have a shooting (don't ask) buddy who has one with a complete spare engine and box that he wants to get rid of. It had a lot of work done on it (£6k) when his missus crashed it but she then got cancer (v. sad) and it's not been run since. They bought a donor car and that's where the mechanical parts came from. The inside is damp and musty as sh!t but it started when I tried to interest the girlfriend's daughter (in the car!!!!, believe me). Let me know if you're up to a trip to deepest Daaaaarset!
I may be able to get you some photos but not until the weekend as the firm is sending me to Spain to drink San Miguel until Saturday. They think I'm gonna be working!!! FOOOOOOOLS BuwahahahahaHA
I was interested in it as a next project but then the monocycle rather took my fancy
Your friend with a box with one of your farts in it!
Ian
PS I believe it's a 944 which is 20 better than a 924

Hola de España!!!
I spoke to Bernie and it's a black with beige? interior 1984 'A' reg (Lux maybe?) with 84,000 miles. The top of the dashboard is sun-cracked and the seats have mainly come unstiched but it is unmolested, never had a chav driver and best of all the Porker 2.5 is half a V8!!!!
Loadsa parts with it, more than the engine and box mentioned previously.
I've PM'd you with Bernie's number. Best to speak to him!
Vayamos los muchachos.

Kev's Kar Finders proudly presents.........small fanfare - taaadaaa

Gav,
Bernie was away today and I didn't get back 'til last night so I took these few shots of the car parked up. I couldn't see any rust but it's been outside for a while. Bernie says it starts OK but doesn't idle. It was taxed and MOT'd 'til end December '06.
Some more to follow.
Cheers,
Ian

Whilst out looking at the 944 for the Gavster and being equipped with a camera I found another couple of candidates locally for a more interesting daily driver
The first is a bit more of a doer-upper than the Porker but still interesting

The second was more of a realization that life will catch up with Gaz in the end and he''ll need room for child seats and the labradors eventually. However it should be something unique and as flamboyant as the prospective owner
On my short list were the points; classic, ash-framed and hand beaten aluminium body..... and now you're thinking Morgan?
Nope, think of this with a V8 in it. Better aerodynamics than a Morgan (lousy frontal area though).
It's truly a classic people carrier.....
SORTED!!!

Yep he got it 'cos I have photographic proof

...and didn't the boy do well! Especially turning up as a wooly-hatted townie in deepest Dorset Deliverance territory. After much poking, prodding, document inspecting, owner's classic tractor admiring, jump lead searching and finally firing up he decided to take on a pretty good bargain. Common manners preclude me from discussing the buying price but the barn full of spares that he got as well should make sure that the car is essentially free or even makes him a profit.
As we have a V8+2 section I expect he will now agitate for a V8x0.5 section as well
