Where to feed Vacuum guage from?

Post by Dixie6789 »

Where do I put the vacuum gauge? Do I put a T-Piece in from the dizzy or do you use the other output from the carb? I am using a Eddie 500 with vac advance/retard working perfectly. I know some say it ought to be removed, but why change something that is working well and regularly returns 25 mpg.

...because if you actually take the time to test the Lucas vac advance unit with an Eddy 500 you will find that they do not work very well together. Well not if you want to run a decent amount of static timing anyway.

Depends where the vac feed comes from on that carb. On some carbs, the vac feed is cunningly arranged to not be true manifold vacuum as it is taken from right by the butterfly.

I don't know where it is taken from on that carb.

Chris.

Looking at the front of the carb, its the left pipe. The right one is blocked not used and has a cover on it.
