How Do I Repair this Broken Fuel line In SU Carb

just bought an engine and the one fuel line on the su carb is broke

can anyone recommend the best way to sort this

Drill it out carefully and have a threaded insert made to screw in with a sealant on the threads.

Or strip it down (you will need to anyway to stop swarf getting into the fuel chamber if you were to drill it), heat the body up with a high temp hot air gun (or carefully with a flame) and you should be able to pull it out and push a new piece of tube in, it's only a press fit so when the ally is heated it should come out easily enough.

I big self tapper or thick wood screw should get enough purchase on it to then be able to just pull it out.
Failing that drill it out - you will probably find it will start spinning round and start working itself out anyway.

Which one is it? and where are you? I have an SU that was from a late P6 V8 if you need it, cant remeber whcih side it is. (it was lost and while lost I sold the other one), If you can pick it up or pay the postage it's yours

wow excellent cheers for that, just sent you a pm, il still have a go at fixing this but slightly worried il get a leak and my beloved car will catch fire so would be nice to have a good one to swap over
