Lifter bore extra oil hole?

Hi.

Found some intresting setup..
Can someone explain why the lifter gallery/bore has got extra oil holes? More oil with cam? This is old BL Motorsport block..?

Did it run solid lifters? More lubrication?

It is a for Volvo lifters and shorter Grp A pushrods.
