Air filter Plenium on a weber/eddy??

Post by whelo »

Hi, what do you guys run plenium wise with a weber/eddy? I dont want to use a pancake airfilter as i've got a snorkel on my 90, i'd like her to breathe fresh air from outside, been looking around & RPI do a plenium for the weber/eddy but dont really like the look of it, could make my own i guess from a pancake..
Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Jason

Hi
there is a thread on here somewhere on that piece of RPI junk someone found a bed pan that looked better designed for the job. Ideally you want a plenum that has an internal volume of about 5 times one cylinder swept volume or more, 2 times will do if you can keep the top well away from the top of the carb. The pipe into the plenum should be about twice the area of the total throttle butterflies and not congregated .
best regards

I was looking to keep the feed pipe the same as the RR P38's V8's, i assumed they were up to the job, RPi's look tiny compared to the standard set up.
I'm thinking of using my pancake eddy filter & making something out of that.
Got a k&N in the TD5 air box i'm gonna use so plenty of filtration with the ram effect of the snorkel..
