Hi
Same basic gauge but from McGills and £5 cheeper (ok the face is a different colour). http://mcgillmotorsports.co.uk/index.ph ... ductId=581
They deliver within 2 days normally and offer proper product support.
If it were me. . . I would go with McGills, and I do buy alot of stuff direct from China.
Best regards
Mike
Sorry editd to put the link in! makes a little more sense that way!

Re: Rover V8 Compatible Tachometer
Doesn't give any information on how it's driven, does it? Modern cars have a low voltage pulse from the ECU - older ones commonly a high voltage one from the coil negative. Should be possible to design one to work from either, though.AntonZdz wrote:All

Bit of a generic thing to say they dont work on RV8's
Given they dont know what ecu, what ignition system etc and the fact they've been used over a 30year range.
A bit more info as to what they do require to make them work would be better, or reasons as to why they dont work with a RV8, which again is very dependant on exact model they are referring to.

I guess it's possible. But any aftermarket rev counter I have ever seen are all switchable for various cylinders.
Although none of them were cheap chinese stuff. Or at least not cheap modern chinese stuff...
Might have been old, and who knows where they were made lol

Suitable for 4, 6 or 8 Cylinders , but will not work on Minis ,Land Rovers or any British Leyland vehicles or diesel Transit vans !!
Ideal for coil ignition systems ,ECU's ,W Terminal Alternator feeds or Crane/MSD Electronic Ignition systems.
It will not work on multi coil ignition systems

Just to add I had problems with my SD1 tach when I changed to EDIS8. The original was Lucas DLM with the dizzy mounted amp. I tried all the various diode circuits shown with both pull up and pull down resistors. And the transistor firing a relay coil. Non was perfect. Eventually changed the movement driver inside the tach to a design I found on the net, which works off the EDIS tach feed.
