KMS on a Vitesse.

Anyone got experience of KMS? Have a fellow SD1 club member with a Vitesse he's just bought so fitted, and it's not running well at part throttle. He says it's a pig in town - but goes like the clappers on the open road. I'm reasonably ok with MS - is it so different it would be like starting from scratch? It looks to be a neat enough installation - pro done - with an additional loom for the KMS system just taped to the original loom, which appears intact. It is fuel only.
