I've just got a land rover series II fitted with a 3.5V8 with a single Webber Carb.
Spoke to a garage that use to look after the car and they say it's never had any probs like this before so I think it's old components reaching end of life.....
Engine runs great when cold but when warms up it suddenly dies, loses power as if it's either over fuelled or total lack of fuel.
If left to idle at this stage it sounds ok, but when gentle increasing throttle, sounds like it's down a cylinder.
When driving like this I can't give much more than idle speed on the throttle without it just dying. So can only do about 35mph in 4th.

When left to cool, it's back to being perfect.
There is a strong smell of fuel when all this happens, although i'm suspecting a problem with the ignition system but no idea what's on it!

It's running with a Kenlow on thermostatic switch and this works fine so never gets over hot.
Please can anyone give me any ideas??
