Fitted the cooler unit for the water (thanks Elliot!!)

What a tight fit, no where for it to go really, but I managed to get it under the car behind the rad:

Your using the same dump valve that I have just brought. (E bay?) Have you been able to adjust it to keep it closed at idle? when I first fitted my supercharger I had a plastic bosch dump valve from VAG on my shelf in my garage so I fitted it (didn't really understand how it worked

) well on idle the spring wasn't strong enough to resist the vacume so leaked.
I have since learnt how they work!

and brought the adjustable one you also have thinking I can adjust the spring pressure when idling.
Does it work ok?

Have you been out in your motor since starting it? how does it go?

Hi Tom,
It appears to work at idle. If I hold my hand over the filter no air comes out until I rev it and it goes into over run. It is adjustable, and that appears to work. I have it set at a very soft setting, so it could be adjusted if needed.

I'm going to fit the waste gate soon, this will be fun, no idea if it will work.

I havent driven it as yet, the car isn't taxed, will probably wait another month or so unless the weather turns for the better,

Im going to have a play at limitting boost, as the compression ratio is high I want to ensure I dont stick too much through it without being in control.

Also, in theory, I should be able flattern the boost out. So I can spin it quicker but level the boost off early, therefore giving me more power at lower revs without giving me too much boost at higher revs.

Well, thats the theory, I have no idea if it will work, it was only £50, so not going to lose much

Given boost and revs are almost linear on those, wouldn't it be easier to set an artificially low rev limit whilst you dial it in.

Hi Elliot,
I will be taking it easy, probably set a max boost limit in the ECU, I also have the largest pulley that Rotrex sell fitted to the blower.

But in theory, with a waste gate I could turn the blower quicker, maybe even to its maximum and limit the boost.
So rather than have the max boost the engine can take at max engine speed, I could have the max boost my engine can take at say 4000RPM, therefore getting more boost at 3000 than I would have got if max was hit at 6000.

No idea if it will work of course, as the waste gate could just dump all the pressure rather than just venting some off, but if it does work I could then get the MS to control the waste gate and have a programmable/mappable boost pressure setup, the same as a turbo.
Like I say though, it may not work, but got to be worth a try for £50,

the waste gate should work fine, if you find it dumps boost pressure too quickly fit a restriction down stream of the waste gate to control the rate at which the pressure rises. The principle works very well for mechanical fuel injection no reason it shouldn't for boost pressure, it is just fluid flowing in a system of pipes.
