No - I was wondering if any CC judgements against them had been paid. To give you an idea what you're up against.

I got a CC judgement against a person who caused £1000 quid worth of damage to my car and didn't stop. All seen by two witnesses one of whom recognised the driver.

But I've never got the money - despite the person being a home owner etc.

Techniclutch certainly aren't on many peoples Xmas card list. I dont think Ive ever heard anyone say good things about them

If it wont cost anything to pursue it, go ahead, but it's just a crappy spot to be in.

I don't know how it works in UK, but I had a guy owe me a lot of money for damage he did to a property he rented from me and I went to my lawyer to get it back and made it clear that it had to cover her costs, too. She pursued it and eventually had his bar/restaurant equipment attached just after opening time on a Friday.

In short, I got paid, and she turned a tidy profit from the whole deal.

Maybe it's worth a stab if they don't pay you out....
Cheers,
John

A mate of mine uses a debt collection guy when he gets knocked. He sends the guy the details and the debt collector sends a letter to the company in question explaining what they owe and what the debt collector is entitled to do in order to recover the money. My mate reckons he gets a 90% success rate this way. Give me a shout if you need details.

Best of luck with getting them. The useless sods deserve all they get.

I didn't pursue them too far when they messed me about because it was a relatively small amount of money and would have cost me much more in lost working time than I would ever have recovered.

A debt collection agency can't do very much without a court order.

It's not too difficult to pursue a claim thought the small claims court yourself - although if it is contested it will take some of your time attending etc.

The big snag is the court doesn't enforce any judgement in your favour - that is up to you. Usually via a bailiff, etc. But you'd have to go back to court to recover those costs. And remember you can't get blood from a stone...

Where are they?

Can a "bunch" of us visit them and make a suggestion that they repay?

Amazing how a load of people arriving in the entrance of their shop can make things happen.

At one stage I used a collection agency for work and they had a bunch of bikers who road in on Harleys and made a point! But that cost a fair few ££££ and the stakes were a lot higher

I used the County Court to get £700 out of a bankrupt trader.
It costs £80 to kick it off, which you can add to the total amount you want from them. Just go to the county court and speak to them on how it works.

We won the judgement, then asked for the money in installments over 2 years. But we got it all back.

Chris.

Companies house has to have the company details
http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/dba72 ... ompanyInfo

Search for Nationwide Clutch Distribution comes up blank
Nationwide Clutch Distributors is in liqiudation Co number 03715171 Went bust in 2006
Nationwide Clutch Distributord UK Limited appears to still be going - It goes under the company reference 05296413
You can then click on Order documents and for £1 each you can review exactlywhat the company is up to.
But one of the things states the company's capital is only £100 which menas that if you press too hard they will just fold the company as they only have £100 invested.
It also bears the same address as the liquidated company so from this I read they have previous knowledge of winding up companies and starting afresh!

Sorry probably not what you wanted to hear
