Rich,

Ah, a picture say a thousands words, neat bit of work and could well help the flow a bit.

Looking at the height of it you should have room for a 14" x 3" if you use the Mr gasket drop base one, V8 Tuner has them at a reasonable price.

The 14" x 2" ones which I'm stuck with at the moment is very restictive but the extra 1" gives much more clearance between the the top of the carb and the filter top.

All being well, see you at N.Weald next sunday.

Hi Kevin, i did have a 12" x 3" and a 14"x3" but ive changed the bonnet and used my old air scoop on the bonnet so no room for anything bigger than that tiny thing on it know :( . i will run the car at the weald to see if the timing and air filter has made a difference, :) rich O yes ive fitted the fuel pressure gauge aswell, on the outside, i have been a busy little bee :)

Rich, could you lift the rear of the bonnet by an inch, this would keep it a little cooler in there and may give a you a fraction more space for a bigger filter?

the filter on it know sticks through the bonnet by about a 1" or so already, what with level plate, nitrous plate, and thermo plate, the old carb sits right up, might see about making a filter thing up, :)

Why not level off the thermo plate slightly and do away with the level plate? Oh- might be hard if it is the rubbery type but not if it is solid!
