Rich,
Ah, a picture say a thousands words, neat bit of work and could well help the flow a bit.
Looking at the height of it you should have room for a 14" x 3" if you use the Mr gasket drop base one, V8 Tuner has them at a reasonable price.
The 14" x 2" ones which I'm stuck with at the moment is very restictive but the extra 1" gives much more clearance between the the top of the carb and the filter top.
All being well, see you at N.Weald next sunday.

Hi Kevin, i did have a 12" x 3" and a 14"x3" but ive changed the bonnet and used my old air scoop on the bonnet so no room for anything bigger than that tiny thing on it know
. i will run the car at the weald to see if the timing and air filter has made a difference,
rich O yes ive fitted the fuel pressure gauge aswell, on the outside, i have been a busy little bee
