Tornado chip.

Post by jenand40 »

Hi all;
Believe these chips come with instructions of how to install. Does anyone have these they could email me, please.
Thanks.
Andy.

All ICs have an identification of some sort at one end. Most common perhaps an engraved dot. Of course if someone sticks a label on 'their' chip you may not see it - but it will still be there under the label.

On a factory printed IC, the dot is usually at the left end of the IC when orientated to read the writing.

The best way to remove to old IC and avoid damage to the PCB is by cutting all the legs carefully with a pair of fine snips and remove each leg individually.

On the flapper PCB component side, the large chip has the mark at the power transistor side, the smaller one at the other side.
