Range rover flapper starting problem

Post by mgbv8 »

Hi Guys!!

As you all know I'm not into the EFI stuff but I am helping a mate out.

The engine starts just fine on the 9th injector and then fades out as the other injectors are not triggering. I have checked the plugs during the fade out and the sparks are present. When the ign is turned on and I open the flapper jobby I can hear the fuel pump run.

So for some reason the 8 injectors are not opening. Any quick pointers??

Pel

Have a look at V8Alligators thread - exactly the same problem by the sounds of it.

Chris.

Check the tach feed to the ECU hasn't got unplugged. It is a wire from the coil negative via a resistor. Wire colour is white/black. The resistor is a small black tube.

The main injectors won't fire without a tach feed - but the cold start one will.

Thanks Dave

That will explain the spare wire with a resistor hanging loose in the engine bay
