think my new engine just died

Is it worth getting something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Mini-5M-U ... 2a302f3ff4 to poke in the spark plug holes to examine things before pulling the heads off?

(Says the chap who's just stripped his engine to component pieces because it annoyed him once too often... )

i fixed it,it was the head gasket gone, seems to start and tickover fine now with no smoke, just got to try and sort the carbs out now
