Hi Martyn
I did indeed see your previous post and thank you for your interest.
You should get that intake system of yours on and let the rest of us know how it works out along with pics of course.
I must say that a 5.0ltr Mantula is nuts and I bet it goes like a rocket!
There have been two Mantula's that I have seen recently one this past week but I don't think they have the warp drive system you have

Mine is coming along quite nicely now even though I made a mistake with the foam thickness and my mate the Cave Troll was very keen on making this the point of conversation for the evening whilst I in turn questioned his parentage!
I did not notice that I had bonded two lots of 20mm and two lots of 25mm when it should have 25mm throughout so when we came to angle the pipes into the housing there was not enough to bore into.
What a pillock ! (Mike no need for your thoughts on that point thank you!)

With a new section cut and bonded to the top we could continue and by the end of the evening we finally had this.

Now question time for all of you following this please could I have your thoughts on whether I should keep the sides like this...

Image

Or should I taper it from this back to a point at the rear of the housing.

As always open to ideas and suggestions .

Thanks all and catch you later

P

Hi,

I will try and get it cut down and fitted in a couple of weeks, if your at the NEC classic show next weekend it will be on the Marcos owners club stand, this is a first for me.

Good luck with your project,

Hi Martyn
Unfortunately I wont be at the NEC although it has always been an event I would like to show at.
Good luck to you and take some pics for us all to see.

Personally, I'd go with the tapered one. Will there be enough "meat" to fit the tubes from the filters in at an angle or would a scalloped and angled cutaway make it easier for you to fit the inlet tubes square-on from a manufacturing point of view and give you a straight on fit with the silicon hose?
Hope I am making sense with that??? :?
Cheers,
John

Hi all
Will have to continue this at the back end of the week as we have to go away for a couple of days for work.
Typical, was hoping to have this pretty much ready for gelling but it will have to wait.
Catch you later
Cheers

Hello guys
Well I have a bit of a problem here at the moment with a small health issue which nearly put me in hospital yesterday and now I have been banned from all work and play time in the garage until at least next week.
I am so keen to get on with this but you like me will have to wait and see how it all pans out (if at all).
Apologies for the delay but I am just not that fit at the moment.

Any advice on the TIG thread in General Chat area appreciated

cheers

I'm bored off me tits after just a few hours doing next to nothing and don't like it.
How people can make a career of being 'doley's' is beyond me.
Just not used to being this inactive!
Thanks also for the get wells from Cammy and Dave
I am not looking for sympathy in any way shape or form I just wanted to let folk know that I am champing at the bit to get on and share with you how it goes .
Just thought I had a bit of a cough is all

Hi Paul
get well soon, I don't know how you can complain of boardum that Jeremy Kyle does a wonderful uplifting and informative show in the mornings, a deep insight into the human condition, record it and review a few times during the day after all you would not want to miss out on any of the subtle and enlightening nuances of modern life
Best regards
Mike

Forget Jeremy Kyle....too sophisticated for the likes of yourself. Try Peppa Pig on the children's channel. You'll soon be an addict and find it hard to get your arse off the sofa, problem solved!

Better still mate get well soon!

Hi Mr Monkey
does this mean I can just pop in from the garage at any time of the day and direct abuse via the forum in your direction and have a fair chance of getting a response! Ooh fun fun fun!
Defiantly get well soon, I don't think I will be able to keep up that pace too long but you know as its you . . . I'll try. :D
Best regards

My Dearest Mr Manta and Mr Kiwi
Your obvious concern and moral medicine warm my heart.
Perhaps you could start an on line Forum Therapy Group to help those in physical distress and discomfort as I'm sure it would be welcomed.
My time today will be spent alternating between watching a pig and being abused most publicly.
Strangely, already I feel considerably better and am ready for the day!!
Thanks guys you are amazing

And Mike
Please don't strain yourself too much by using all your energy in your planned torrent of abuse (a man of your age and all that )

Can you all please keep the noise down - I've just had my ears syringed. Was thinking about making a sculpture out of the wax that came out. :D
