replacement 4.6 injectors

Post by Seight-V8 »

I've have a standard set of 4.6 injectors on my vems ecu'd engine and I am thinking of any upgrade to something with known injector settings for my ecu.

mine are D1830GA ones rated at 180-220cc depending where you look.

Looking for something a bit up market and capable of 300+ bhp.

Question is, is there any better/new ones that fit the standard 4.6 fuel rail & head ports without modifications?.

cheers

scott

4.6 takes a standard injector so as long as you pick the correct impedance you can use just about any of the injectors found on the American V8's.

Will just be a typical Bosch type fitment, very common.

New from Five-o, Racetronix etc etc wont cost the earth

Or maybe that Asnu place in the UK might have something suitable.

That said, a friend was speaking to them a couple of weeks ago and they claimed they had all ranges and sizes in stock and ready for sale, blabbed about how great their injectors were....and when he tried to purchase a few days ago....Errmmmm we dont actually have any of those size available yet.

Scott
I am having similar problems with injector selection, mine are marked
D1830BA and a Google search is no help.
My engine is 4.8 and I am looking for injectors that can support 340bhp

Did Lucas eventually make injectors for the GEMS system? The earlier flapper and hotwire both use Bosch in injectors.

Dunno if you've found this - it gives you injector flow rates, etc.

thanks for help so far,

been googling again, and found some thor 4.6 bosch ones on ebay, they are listed as part 0280155787.

Just wondering if these would be a good enough upgrade to my old lucas 4.6 type ones and would they fit the GEMS engine fuel rail that I have.

Looks like the bosch ones have four injector holes in the end, but not sure want gen these ones are.

Cant find the flow data for these, if anyone knows?

just found something the might work and looks like others have fitted using standard fuel rail.

http://www.fiveomotorsport.com/bosch-bm ... -injectors.

think they fit the bill of what I need 24lbs (246cc) for my VEMS ecu.

cheers

Do you need a specific CC rating? If having a higher rating isn't an issue then these could be good and will give you some fairly decent headroom for further work:

Have a look here for flow rates:

That Bosch injector is rated at 190cc @ 3bar which I would suggest is too small for your 300 target. You would need to run it at 80psi.

right next plan is these ones I found while doing a search on google.

Bosch 0280 156 013 (red devils) gen II.

2mm shorter but fit the standard fuel rail and flow about 250cc (24lbs) with fuel but specs are with heptane, done the calcs and they look a good choice.

Should go right in without any mods, just a few tweaks to the ecu injector settings.

Should work out at £280 -£300 with delivery & taxes.

cheers

Vectra 1588 2 hole inj's flow about 250 at less than 40psi and will cost you inc purchase of 8 s/hand units around £125 or less inc Ultra Sonic cleaning and don't protrude into the intake :D bloody bargain IMO
