Cylinder head interchangability 3.5 3.9 4.6.....Etc.

I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but what is the interchangability on the Rover V8 heads?.

Will the HRC2479 replace the standard heads on a 1984 SD1 carb engine as long as they are fitted with composite gaskets?. Same goes for the HRC2210 heads - what would be the benefits, if any, of using these heads over standard SD1 items on a very mildly modified 3.5 engine (9.75 pistons, 3.9 Range Rover cam)?.

They fit but there is no real benefit to using them other than you can use comp gaskets and not hurt your compression. Certainly not worth going out to buy them specially to get a performance boost.
