manfold vacuum. Larger one may go to the brake servo, smaller one can be for a vacuum guage or possibly to dizzy.

small one is sometimes used for the difflock on a Rangerover or landrover LT95

At least one of the automatic transmissions in an SD1 used a vacuum connection from the engine. That might be true for the 3-speed auto from a Range Rover too.
