Hi

Post by mdbs »

Hi, first post. Found this forum when looking for info on the IVA or what ever its called when you have to have a modified car inspected.

Have built several cars in the past but not for years now. So thinking about what to build. Probably day reaming at the moment but I hope to do something. But it does depend on how much of a pain the DVLA will/might be.

But of course it has to be a V8, probably a Lexus unit for the obvious reasons, into a Chevette or Viva or maybe a Minor but with a beam front axle for the "Gasser" look.

Anyway, Hi.

Rover v8 in a mk3 cortina. It worked ok. Used a zodiac (mk2 I think)rear axle but it kept breaking it. So went to v6 capri axle.

Then a 383 big block chyrsler in a zodiac but the car was too heavy really so it didnt go very fast.

Built a v6 minor van called Red Hot which was in Custom Car mag that I still look for.

I then had some jap turbo stuff inc a 300zc that would do very low 13 second quarters

My son had an 11 second Skyline that I rebuilt the engine on twice. Lol

If I do another I want better than 13 sec quarters.
