TVR 4.0L

Post by Fozwanger »

Anyone chipped or mapped a TVR griff/chim 400 14CUX set up?

What increase did you get and who did it, how much?

Is it worth it?

I suspect the internals of a 400 engine are largely standard (i.e. a generic rover v8 straight from landrover) - therefore chipping it is unlikely to release many of those elusive blackpool ponies.

I had mine chipped by Mark Adams using the Tornado chip. Engine is a 4.3 TVR engine and it developed about 270bhp but the best part of the setup was its driveability. Engine would pull from 1200 rpm in 5th with no stuttering at all.

I Only changed to Emerald when I fitted supercharger as it allowed boost compensation.

So if you’re interested in going that route I have a 14cux fitted with Tornado chip, 20 AFM Air meter and diag unit. But would suggest to get the best out of it you would need to get it remapped for your engine.
