How much power will the ZF4 HP22 take ?

Anyone running one behind a 4.6 ? and giving it lots of beans off the line?
For the occasional run on the strip i was wondering if i could get away with leaving mine as is, or any other recommendations?

The 4HP22 behind a 4.6 is marginal. The 4.6 Range Rover switched to a 4HP24 which is just about identical (a shade longer), but with stronger internals.

Ashcroft Transmissions have stuff about it on their website I think.

Mind you, I've had a 4HP22 behind my 4.6 for years, no issues yet.....

Thanks Chris, i need to get the 4.6 built and in first, so another box could be built in the meanwhile, john
