Hi,
Your oil pump looks interesting, are you going to test the engine before you fit it to see if it makes oil pressure..??
My diff ratio is 2.65:1, which match to my gearbox (1:1 fifth gear) means it should do about 170mph at around 6200rpm and it doesn't take to long to get to 150 so I quite sure it would do it...

Now i have a spare 4.4, I'm going to take the pump out of that, spin it up on the lathe and see what pressure it makes, then do the same on the hdi pump, hopeing its somewhere close.....as I'm useing the escort on the track, I'm looking for power rather than top end
can never have too many spae v8's

It actually lays out quite nicely.....certainly no more than maybe a standard e36 loom, i reckon if someone was considering a v8 the loom transplant would be the cheapest way to go, even the ignition barrel with the ews fits the e36 column.
the dash is even the same size and shape so would fit the 36 dash top, the heater plug is the same, as is the wiper motor and sunroof, i don't know about the stalks, but if that's the only cut and shut to do, its a lot cheaper than a stand alone ecu

Hi Steve,
I have been wanting to do the same conversion as you have but into a Ti down here in New Zealand, finding a 5 speed from a 530i hase been a bit of a problem as very few of the V8s here are manual, I may have to import one from the UK or US, do you have a contact for the people who do the clutch kit like you fitted to yours, also do you have any other pictures of how you did the engine mounts?
Cheers Paul

Hi all,
Quick update, ran the Beemer at santa pod on sunday, a first for me and the car.... pleased with the times, didn't change tyre's or pressures in them, ran it exactly as I would drive her on the street and managed a 13.44 @ 105....
I will post some videos in the 1/4 mile section...
Cheers

Hello,
Been a while, I've been a bit busy helping my mate, the 2005 Mustang drag car I helped my mate build ran a 9.04 @ 149mph last Sunday at Santa Pod, so very pleased with that...
Back to the Beemer, I'm running her at fighting torque on Sunday 9th Sept at Woodbridge airfield, I will let you know how I get on and post some vid's.. Fingers crossed she will perform well...
