Re: Spigot Bush Question
When I built my 4.6 lump which is bolted to an LT77 there was no issue over the bush. You could always measure up the end of the shaft and the hole in the bush to check.bullyboy wrote:Hi

If you need to remove it a neat trick is to fill the hole with grease then find a loose but close fitting solid bar that you push into the hole then hit the bar a hammer. This has worked twice for me!

hiya,
just had this same issue, as i am building a 4.6efi and using the LT77.
The 4.6 spigot bush is about 19mm internal diameter and has a very thin wall.
The sd1 spigot bush for the LT77 is only about 12mm internal diameter, and has a thick wall.
They cost about 8 quid from rimmers, so i changed mine, otherwise the input shaft may have to much clearance when revving high.

Spigot bushes are only used when the clutch is depressed, and unless you are doing 6k launches rarely see much in the way of 3k when launching hard.Seight-V8 wrote:hiya,

Hi,
I've read (and seen a U-tube video) of how to get the bush out by packing with grease and then using a hammer on a piece of bar. I'll take your word that this works, but where am I going to find a 19mm bar that fits - I've searched the whole garage and everything is either to small or too big. How close fitting does it need to be, cos if it's to small I'm gonna get covered in gease
Any ideas?
Thanks

A bit of wood dowel will work too - easier to reduce the size if too big.timnutt wrote:Hi,

Most DIY sheds sell it in various diameters.
