small block chevy oil

Can anyone give me advice on the correct engine oil for my 350 small block ?, it has the full Edelbrock Performer RPM treatment, and makes around 400bhp, could I use synthetic ? such as Mobil 1 or similar ?

With a small block you can run pretty much any oil, its all about the clearances the engine has been built with, hydraulic lifters etc, there are plenty good oil pumps available and a decent uprated pump should let you run even the very low viscosity oils.

I use Valvoline VR-1 Racing in my 383.
