If its in-situ I normally find a slight twist & wiggle with a ball-ended allen key is enough to gently tease it out.

Engine in place and still have oil?
Crank it over on the starter - it should pop out

When mine was stuckin they apparently blew it out with an airline, and a magnetic tool to move it about, not sure where the airline attached never asked  when it came out it had a very slight burr on it.

Thanks
