ARP Stud Kits?
Hi
Anyone know where I can get the con rod and head ARP stud kits from? I need them for a 4.0L Rover V8 crossbolted block.
many thanks

I used RPI which is nearly near you. I got my head and main studs from there.
There was talk on another forum of 4.6 studs needing to be different to 3.5, and I don't know where 4.0L RV8 fits in? It was a thread length issue and ARP were bringing out a kit specially for the later engine? Sorry I can't offer specifics, only that there a 'thing' to watch out for

I've used the same head stud kit on a 3.5 block and a 4.6 block without a problem, mind you I did use the same heads each time. If your block and heads have been skimmed a lot there is the chance that the nuts run out of thread just as they are going tight, this can give you a false torque reading. Its best to check this as you build the engine. RS sell extra washers that you can use to get round the problem. (I did not need them in the end)
V8 Dev torque the ARP head studs to 75 ftlbs so that's what I did.

Real Steel etc should have them ?
I've used the same con rod bolts on 6 rebuilds now on the 4.6 engine. And my set of ARP head studs have been on all my V8's from 3500 to 4600 since 2004. Approx 8 engines now.
