forged pistons
is there a cheaper way of fitting forged pistons in my rv8 3.9 , will any from the chevy or ford v8 range fit , as they seam loads cheaper , just an idear , thanks 

Ford modular pistons fit I believe. Been researching this myself. Small ends need bushing a little though. Ian Stuart put me on to these babies a while back.

3.9 rover bored I think .036 over, 305 chevy forged pistons, Keith Black Ikon, need to use a modified 6.0" Chevy rod and a piston built for chevy with a 5.7 rod. Flat tops will be over 11-1 compression so look for the dished ones if you want to run pump fuel. We fitted the 4 valve cut out ones with 6" scat rods and got the pistone .003 out of the bore, perfect for a blower on alky, dished pistons will be fine NA. Summit has them with pins and rings for $604

The gentlemen above have the best options listed.
The ford mod pistons come with flat top, 6cc dish, 16cc dish and 24 cc dish (you will have to hunt around for them as prices vairy), you need the pistons for the 5.4L version of the engine with a 3.7" bore (or +.02") on that and as Perry says bush the rods, they are a very light piston which is worth considering.
The Chevy piston option is also a good way to go, as Al says you need a +036" overbore but with the chevy pistons and rod combinations you can pretty much get any compression height and rod length you want (you need the 2" big end small block chevy rods, not the 350 size ones). If you shop around ebay and places like CNC motorsport, northern autoparts, maddog racing you will probably find them cheeper than Summitt, I have bought parts from all three and all have been pretty good (with CNC make sure you get a shipping quote in writing).
