Another water pump question.

Another water pump question.
Range Rover 1986 V8 efi, I have had the entire engine stripped, re-faced, chemical cleaned, and most parts changed.
(TAPPETS, BEARINGS,CHAIN,& COGS,OIL PUMP SPROCKETS,CAM SHAFT,PISTON RINGS,CORE PLUGS,HOSES,WATER PUMP,BELTS THE WHOLE DAMN LOT!!!)
Now the engine is back together and running, I've got a leak from the water pump, from the discharge excess water hole on the front of the pump.
As we doubted this was right, We've sent it back as defective, but the same thing occurs with the second pump(BRITPART pumps).
The hoses are not ROCK solid, so there is no real pressure build up.
The engine turns over like new!
Can't seem to work out what's wrong.
Any suggestions please?
Thanks all.
Colin

Thanks for that response, YES we believe that the second pump could be defective, but as the importer reckons "IT'S IMPOSSIBLE 2 OUTTA 2" pumps being defective, we have our Doubts obviously!
Only thing is: how many pumps we gotta go through to find out that they're all Bleedin' Useless?
Ok so it cost 50 odd quid!, but it should Work....
Thanks Again for any help.

Yep, that's more or less our judgement.
The water pump is a VERY simple component.
Seeing as the hole is below the shaft, we reckon that the "O" ring seal is a crap fit.
Thus allowing liquid through.
I mean what else can there be in such a silly thing like this?
Engine turns over like a Rolex.
Just a swine that it's all gotta be dismantled and drained every blinkin' time to change the pump, just to see if we've got a defect or not!
Thanks for your reply anyway!
