Good source (And this time I do mean cheap) Bosch WB Sensor

Post by Quagmire »

Me again,

Finally got time (6 months after it went nuts) to chuck the wideband back in the Landrover and have confirmed that I am getting an error code of 8 - according to the LC1 manual this is a borked sensor. Would make sense as I suspect that I may have got it wet crossing a ford- whoops!

So my question is- where is the cheapest place to get a new sensor? Not particularly bothered about it having the connector as I am happy to lop the connector off the old one and solder up to the new unit. Have had a look around and the cheapest seems to be about £55-£60 quid, is that the best I can expect to do?

Sensor is Bosch 0 258 007 057.

Cheers! 8-)

Jamie

IIRC, the connector on a wideband includes a resistor or whatever that calibrates it, so shouldn't be changed.

Thanks for the headsup Dave, I'll do some googling on the subject before I go and buy one- tbh I haven seen any without a connector so far anyway.

Coops- Triggerwheels looks good, they list an OEM replacement for the LC1, i think it was £45 or something. Cheers :D

I dont think the Bosch sensors have that ? Isnt that only the NTK sensor ?

It's a Bosch I have and it does. Not sure exactly what, but electronics built into the plug.

I would have liked to remove the plug to allow the cable through a hole only just larger than the cable - but decided against after looking at it.
