Any idea if 12mm id hose will be OK for the tank-pre filter-o44 pump? Reason for asking is the Bosch pump came with a 15mm tail fitting (isnt a prob changing this to a 12mm), maybe bigger is better but it will get a bit involved going up to 15mm from the Tank:-( The engines a V8D 5.3, Quad 48 TB's maybe 380ish bhp.
Thanks, Steve

A Bosch 044 has an M18x1.5mm inlet. Not any barb/hosetailleylandracer wrote:Any idea if 12mm id hose will be OK for the tank-pre filter-o44 pump? a 12mm ID hose may be ok, but you'd need to be damn sure the filter has massive flow. Sounds like a very small pre-filter for any efi pump.
And a Bosch 044 should already have an internal gauze, so a pre-filter isnt essential.
Stick with 15mm if you can, and if you must use a pre-filter, make sure it isnt going to restrict the pump, and is suitable for what you are using it for.

Thanks for the info.... Think it will have to be the 12mm without getting to involved
the pre filter is a sytec,
Just out of interest i had a look on the Aeromotive power planner http://aeromotiveinc.com/wp-content/upl ... lanner.pdf
As you said 15mm would be better and there planner also confirms that 12mm should be OK AN-08 = 11.12mm i think

The Aeromotive filter is much bigger than the Sytec though. And that little pump in the 500bhp diagram flows less than an 044.
Also, make sure the Sytec filter does have the 100mic stainless element. they normally ship with a 40mic or less paper element that is not suitable pre-pump.
And keep all of those pipe runs from tank to pump as short as possible.
If anything is out of place you'll soon hear the pump making noises it shouldnt.
