Sealing oil pump cover RV8

Post by sowat »

Replaced the oil pump gears but I'm having trouble getting the Mocal take off plate ( for remote oil filter ) to seal.

Fitted a new gasket with a light smear of sealer, but it's still leaking oil between two of the fixing bolts

Is there a trick to getting these to seal ?

Hi,
Never had a problem with this.
Sounds like the Mocal plate is not flat or there is a defect on the mating surfaces of the pump or cover.

I can only suggest that you find a flat surface and some fine wet/dry paper and gently rub the Mocal plate over the surface to see if it is flat.
