Manifold Studs or Bolts for Tubular manifolds to heads

Yes, it is easy to cross thread when fitting bolts with tubular manifolds as they sometimes need to be sprung into place while fitting the bolt.

With a stud kit fitted, it is easier to spring the manifold onto the studs then fit the nuts, no risk to the threads in the head.

Might need to fit the manifold, then start the nuts and work them into position, my manifolds on my RR classic have a couple that are a right pain to fit, i.e if you spin easy access nuts down so the manifold is against the gasket you may find it inpossible to fit the awkward ones.....talking from personal experience

Just pre planing for when i get the new engine back from V8 developments & now having nightmares about putting the manifolds back on. (Its very tight & bad enough taking them off) Is there any benefit using studs instead of the bolts which were previously fitted

I tend to open the holes out in the manifold if they are not fitting up nicely. Probably means the port alignment is rubbish though.....

I made a load of studs for my lump, much better than bolts as you can hang the headers on them, getting the nuts on a a pain though!
