gearbox help

hi guys if i was to get hold of a BMW zf4hp22 gearbox can i change the bell housing from a range rover zf4hp22 gearbox on to the BMW one,
the reason i ask is i need a rwd gearbox for my v8

any other suggestions

Yup. Early 4HP22 were cable control only - later ones some electronics, so get the right one.

What vehicle is it going into?

how do i go about changing the input shaft from the car gearbox to the range rover one is it a easy job

The input shaft is the same. You just need to change the bellhousing, which doesn't even mean opening up the internals of the box, it's just on the end.

I'm not certain, but I'd guess the Rangie torque converter would fit the BMW box. So you'll need the bellhousing, TC, drive plate and spacers, etc.
