I am realy thinking about putting a Crower 50229 in my engine,question is where to buy ?
I have found v8tuner on the internet,does anyone have other adresses ?

When you fit the new cam stay away from the Housebrand oil. Who knows what they put in their own packaging.

Also as Kiwi says, the cam needs to be run in properly for the first 20 minutes or so. There's plenty of info on that on line.

Cam lubrication in the RV8 relys to a great extent on splash from the crankshaft big end bearings together with drain back oil from the rockers and drain from the followers. In vehicles with an automatic tranmission the engine rarely get up on revs and splash from the crankshaft is on average going to be less than with a manual gearbox and a sporty driver.
So giving it some work to do can be a good thing.

One thing i did not tell is that there was al lot of sludge "mayonaise" mixture of oil and water in valve area,caused by condensating (engine did not loos water).
Oil and water don't work well in engines hower there was nog mayo on the cam area.
Have send a mail to V8 tuner,i am thinking about buying a crower 50229 from them.

Me too hower the problem is i am working the night this week so i sleep most of the day,and phoning from belgium to the uk is not cheap. :?

A little update,i maild with the guys at kroon-oil to ask wath kind of lube to use on the camshaft,they say to use withe vaseline.
"Because it gives some lubrication on start-up and it will be washed away and disolved by the oil." ***

Blijf weg van Kroon oil !!!!

Stay away from Kroon oil. Use proper brands like valvoline 20W50 TurboV especialy for break inn period ( recommended by Real Steel)( even Burton power tells you )( also by me as an experianced engine builder).
Juse proper cam break inn lube like Comp Cams cam lube and don't use Vaseline.
Vaseline is lubrication used by gays..............do I need to tell more....

Give the cam lobes and bottom lifters a good smear of cam lube before assembly.

For all I know. Real Steel cams ( like Huricane & Viper) are hard cast meaning they are tougher. Not shure about other brands.

Actually, they use "Lube" (I am not a gay btw)
However back on topic,i also considerd some kind of anti seize,not copper grease because it has particals in it.
I am trying to call v8tuner all day keep getting busy tone.

Just called a local machine shop and told them about my problem,the mecanic told me that the problem is with the lpg,he says because you cannot give more valve clearance that the lifters press harder on the came causing wear.

Not an expert by any means :oops: but Vaseline is said to attack the material a condom is made of.

By the jokes around many years ago, KY jelly was the lubricant of choice.
Good around the workshop too as it won't attack rubber, unlike petrol based products. You can always put some tape over the brand name. 8)

My CRANE cam came with a small tube of the recommended lube and instructions on how to do it all.

The crower has arrived !
There is lube included !
The other parts i ordered have stickers on them from allmakes :?
Next week assembley,tomorrow BBQ 8)

I have tried to set the tappet preload however :

Tappet preload is the space between the circlips and the top of the tappet.
However the circlips has a lot off space in his groove.
So is the dimension i need between with the circlips at the top off his groove ? Ore at the bottom off the groove ????

Circlip at the top of it's groove. What ever you are measuring it with should be a snug/sliding fit between the circlip and the plunger in the follower. I use a bit of bent wire as a gauge which I hammer to say 30-40 thou thick.
