Who was at the Pod today. April 1st?

I met a couple of guys with their V8 Triumph today. Thanks for taking the vids and pics of me trying to start the MGB V8. It was the dissy drive cog that failed. Thats why it was backfiring through the carb and then the exhaust. The timing was slipping a couple of teeth every revolution.
I've already got it stripped and ready for a new cog in a couple of days.

She is still complaining after the slight explosion in the inlet manifold. Number 2 is down on compression. That was the cylinder that melted one of the two plugs I lost. Number 7 melted the electrodes off, but number 2 took a load of porcelain too. I assume its knacked the valve seats at least.
I'm going to try the next RWYB but the new engine is almost ready to go in now. I realy want to get it fitted and run in for the Retro Show on 7th July. This is the day I have chosen to have my own clubs annual event. The MG Drag Racing Club day out.
