Spark plugs for RV8

Post by Roger.S »

Hi all,

I'm putting a 4.6 with piper 270 cam, otherwise standard with an Eldelbrock 500 into an MGB. What is the right spark plug please?

I have a set of NGK BP5ES, suggested by a friend, will these at least 'do' for now........?

Thanks
Roger :?

Perhaps this is a rather obvious topic for most. Is there an idiots guide to spark plugs for the RV8 somewhere on the forum or elsewhere?

Thanks Roger

I would stick with the standard plugs, you have to do quite a bit of tuning to get to the stage of changing plugs. If they start fouling then go for a 1 grade hotter plug but I don't think with those limited mods you will go outside the range the standard plugs can handle.

I run Champion N9YC in my 4.6 which is fuelled by twin SUs.

No problems at all.
