intake manifold water tunnels help

hi my rover v8 i just bought is going in a buggy what are the 3 tunnels on the intake for i know big front one connects to the rad but there is a little connection just behind it what is that for? and im guessing the back two are heater matrix in and out?? thanks guys

There are more versions of RV8 cooling systems than you can shake a stick at. But some have a small hose to the top of the rad to try and prevent airlocks.

The big one is the thermostat to top rad hose.

The small two are thermostat bypass and heater return, they should go to the two stubs on the rear of the water pump.

thanks guys but mostly what i wanna know, is what the little pipe that comes out the top just behind the front thermostat pipe what is that for

sorry i dont have the ability to take a pic at the mo its around my mates, basically its nearer the left rocker cover its a small pipe just coming out the top of the inlet manifold, its behind the main pipe that goes to rad and just in front of the carb intakes basically in the middle of the two, perhaps its not for water i dont know??? any ideas cheers
