Length of TR8/SD1 Clutch Bearing Carrier

Can anyone tell me what the overall dimensions for a cast (non-self centering) TR8/SD1 Clutch Bearing Carrier are? I have a TR7 (almost ready to be "v8") and have all the bits I need for the v8 clutch conversion, except for the Clutch Bearing Carrier.

The only difference between the TR7 carrier and the TR8 version is the distance from the flats for the throw-out arm to the top of the bearing. The TR8 version is longer. I can press on and weld an adapter to make up the difference, if I know the length to make it.

From the pictures I've seen it looks close to an inch longer. But I really don't like scaling from pictures...

Any help is appreciated.
