Before you take the engine out check that the pump shaft is actually turning the cog in the pump. The shaft is an interference fit and somehow may have become loose. A crack through the cog would do it if it has been subjected to a sieze in the past. This is grasping at straws but better than taking the engine out.plastic orange wrote:Tomorrow has arrived, but still no luck. I removed filter and cleaned out all the vaseline from the pump area. I then heated up filter to melt any vaseline in there and emptied it. I then attached a funnel and hose to oil pressure gauge threads and poured oil in. It went down quite quickly, then stopped (filled filter I presume). I then attached drill to pump drive and spun it anti clockwise - nothing. I then turned it clockwise to see if anything would come out the funnel - nothing again.
I've now reached the point where it looks like engine out?
