Fuel Price where you are?

Post by Ian Anderson »

With the ever rising price how much are you paying per litre at present?
I'll start based on Unleded 95Ron

At Tesco (Supermarket) 130.9p
Local BP 136.9p (It seems after the Gulf of Mexico oil rig disaster BP thinks everyone must pay more for the BP brand fuel - crazy because I'm sure it does not give any more miles per gallon)
Local Shell 131.9p (This promises 20 miles more per tank - but in the citroen actuall gives me a worse consumption than others)
Locas Esso 131.9p

These are in the Hampton court / Sunbury area

Where in the world are you and how much do they want you to pay?

Ian

I live in Wirral and drive to Chester daily, cheapest I've found is a Shell in Moreton, Wirral which yesterday was 129.9. Everywhere else I know in Chester or Wirral is 133.9 apart from a BP just outside Chester which was 137.9!
I wish I had a pound for every time some one told me "My Dad had one of those!"

I never look at Unleaded or Diesel prices as they are too scary. When i do have to put in a splash of Petrol I just close my eyes and try to think happy thoughts...

I pay 139.9 for diesel at Leek on the way to work but there's a place near Ashbourne charging 144.9 !!!!!!!! Believe it or not they actually do get customers.

Getting to work is expensive - 115 miles a day @51mpg.

Must look for a job nearer home, shame there aren't any that pay enough.

In Adelaide, southern Australia it fluctuates - on Friday $1.30 on Saturday jumps up to $1.50 then slowly repeats the cycle over the coming week.

One Aussie dollar currently worth 0.61p. Was up to 0.64p before the earthquake in Japan.

Looks like your government hasn't been "quantertative easing" then. . . must be good to walk up to an American and go "one to one"

Yeah, and it makes ordering parts from Summit a whole lot cheaper, although being so far away shipping charges can still hurt on bigger items.

Fortunately the Govt let's you bring in up to value of $1,000 worth in parts before they slug you for any import duties or taxes.

Petrol maybe relatively cheap, but a lot of Aussies drive V8s (Holden, Falcon mostly) and the distances are vast between major cities meaning you use a lot of fuel getting there.

And there's no way you can take a drive to another country!

Hi
Apart from getting away from the spiders and snakes why would you want to drive to another country? stunning sceenery, loads of V8s cheep petrol, relativly empty roads. That is why I won't go on holiday to Australia, I would not want to come back! And with the pound where it is against the Au$ there is no way I can afford that now.
We can only import up to £141 duty/tax free over including shipping, then you pay duty/tax on the whole value .

Is that number correct? It used to be £29 then the scalpers took over!

Hi
That is the duty free goods allowance last time I read it (about 18 months aga), for tabaco products it is 45 euros (god knows why euros but it is in euros!). It is also not consistantly enforced, some times you get charged anyway others they let more go through (presumably they can't be bothered with the paperwork). Also there is no apeal process.
Best regards
